Day 1: After our trip to the beach, we went to Zichron Yakov, one of the original Zionist settlements from the early 20th century, and then eventually made our way over to a Druze village, Dalyat al Carmel, near Haifa, for lunch. The Druze are a Muslim sect that keep to themsleves and generally live in peace with whichever nationality happens to be in power. They serve in the Israeli army and go to Israeli schools just like everyone else.
