Us in the pool, relaxing and enjoying it since our dip the night before hadn't really been for fun. Afterwards, we went to a very nice dinner at a nearby hotel which had pretty good food by any standards, since it was a French restaurant, but tasted absolutely amazing by that time. The last day was spent dropping off our bags at the Air France office (they let you check in your bags at noon so that you don't need to have the bags with you until 9pm) and then hung out at the Peace Corps house watching movies until we left. And then began the long haul back. It took me ~28 hrs to get from the Peace Corps house in Bamako to my apartment in NYC. I was very relieved that my parents had changed their plans so that they could pick me up, especially since my flight was delayed getting into NY, and an hour wait for the train from Newark would not have been a great way to end the trip when I had to be at work the next day.
