The men of the village tending to the fields. Since we were visiting during the rainy season, it was the beginning of the millet planting. Millet is a grain that tastes a bit like grits--pretty flavorless--ok for a day or two but not for your whole diet. That's what they eat everyday, but luckily we didn't need to. The other part of Sally's job, which she was checking up on, is to try and introduce some new strains of millet which grow faster than the current seed so that they can grow two crops in one rainy season. We'll see soon if this was succsessful.
