Its Almost September Already?

Wow, I can't believe how fast this month has been going by. I feel like life has been on high speed lately, and it seems like that probably won't change. Before you realize it, the week is over and you have a few things go on over the weekend and then next thing you know, its been a month since you've seen someone you used to see every week. Crazy. Anyway, highlights of the past few weeks:

- Seeing Bourne: what can I say, that man rocks. This is also the only "summer blockbuster" I've seen all summer.

- Swimming a 2 mile swim in the Greenwich sound. Beautiful day, nice calm water and the easiest course to follow that I've ever swam on. All in all a perfect swim if it weren't for needing to wake up at 5:30am to get there.

- Hanging out at McCarren Pool watching Ted Leo.

- Sam fixing my old laptop so I was able to get the photos off it that had been trapped on there since November.

- Celebrating Sam's b-day at Mesa Grill. Mmmm, best soft shell crabs I've ever had (sorry Henry's End!).

- Brunch at Miriam: How dare I even question Iraeli breakfast in Park Slope. Fabulous.

- Zipcar enabling us to pick up some nice new to us dining room chairs via Freecycle, and stocking up on cat food from Target while we had the car.

- A fun night out celebrating a friend's b-day dancing at Stereo. Haven't been to a serious nightclub in years, but it was a ton of fun, and we stayed out until after 3 am, which, for anyone who knows us can attest to, is amazing. Though of course we were up at 10 the next day. Because why would we be able to sleep late?

- Watching my first Bergman.

- Seeing Stellastarr* at the Highline Ballroom last night. I've never been there before but it was a really nice venue with the nicest bathrooms I've seen at a music venue ever. And the show was really great. And people were actually dancing. Not hipster shuffling, but jumping up and down and really getting into the music. It was awesome.

And of course, the lowlights:

- My brand new computer failing to load my profile, resulting in a scan disk popping up the dreaded words "bad sectors!" Luckily, its under warranty, so I will be dropping my laptop off on Monday at FedEx for them to pack and ship it back to Sony to get a new hard drive.
