Its Getting Sad How Little I Update This Site

My company started a blog, and so I've been busy writing for it, hence fewer posts over here. However, if I had time to write a proper post, I would be talking about:

- the Tribeca Film Festival: I volunteered again this year and while I didn't get to use any of the movie vouchers I earned for volunteering, I did get to see a few movies while working. The ones that impressed me the most? Amexicano, a great movie about the friendship between a Queens native and a Mexican illegal immigrant. Hope it gets picked up so everyone can go see it. And The Education of Charlie Banks, a movie directed by Fred Durst of all people, which blew me away because it was actually a good movie with polished directing. Not the best movie ever, but an impressive first effort.

- Crazy Love: I got to see a screening of this movie at BAM last night and boy is that a crazy story. Well done movie, definitely worth seeing in a few weeks when its released in the theatres.

- Green buildings: I went to a talk on Wednesday about the Pearl River Tower being built in Guangzhou, China, and it was great. Did you know that even though they are spending all this extra money on the project to make it "green" and "sustainable", it will pay back in energy savings within 4.8 years. Meaning that if you did a 20 year lifecycle cost of the building, it would come out waaaaay cheaper than an equivalent standard office building. Awesome.

- I'm excited to go to Minneapolis this weekend.

- I wish there were a way to buy dresses without having to try them on. I need a dress, mainly because I haven't bought a new summer dress in longer than I can remember, for an upcoming wedding, but the afternoon I spent trying on clothes with no success made me remember why I don't like shopping for more than 10 minutes.
