While on vacation, we stayed in Tlaquepaque, a suburb of Guadalajara filled with galleries and shops. We were pretty happy about where we were, and only made it in to the city of Guadalajara once. We headed into the center of town, where the main cathedral was, and then headed over to the Government Palace that had two amazing murals by Jose Clemente Orozco. I realized while gleaning a bit of information from the Spanish bio in the building that I'd seen his work before, in a huge mural inside the library at Dartmouth, back when I was looking at colleges long ago. We also wandered over to the huge covered market nearby - if you want to buy clothes, electronics and a whole pig in one place, this is your place!
