For New Years Eve, Sam and I decided to stay local (much like the rest of our lazy weekend). A nice dinner at Ici, followed by steam engine room festivities at Pratt. They brought up the calliope (which I had captured on film on our visit there last year) and some steam whistles from the engine room onto the quad and though it was empty when we arrived about 11:15, but midnight the area was pretty packed. Slight confusion ensued as to when the actual countdown was, without the Times Square ball dropping for reference. I think the crowds may have counted down 3 times before they realized it was 2007. Lots of fun, highly recommended.
My new years resolutions? I like the one from a few years ago to try at least one new recipe a month. I haven't been all that adventurous recently, doing a lot of familiar stuff instead. And post more often. I hope this will happen once I obtain a new computer, which I plan to do soon since I received a nice fat (engineer fat, not Goldman Sachs fat) year end bonus this week! Woo hoo!
Happy New Year!
