On A Stick

Nothing On A Stick

Friday was my first trip to the Minnesota State Fair. What non-fairgoers might not realize is that the fair is all about the food. Most of which can be found on a stick. We spent over 12 hours at the fair, during which Sam and I consumed: corn dogs, Swedish egg coffee (didn't taste eggy at all), a sno-cone, cheese curds, root beer, iced chai, funnel cake, a deep fried Snickers bar, beer, lemonade, ribs, and a cream puff. Ahh, three healthy meals. And yet somehow we managed to eat again the next day.

I have been in Sweden for 9 months and I have never heard of this and neither has anyone in my office. Minnesota has a huge Swedish population so you'd think it would be authentic but who knows. Did it just take like coffee?

yup, tasted just like regular, slightly watery coffee.

small world, dahlia--i was at the minn state fair this weekend, too. i was also marveling at all the food; i tried deep fried chocolate chip cookies, key lime pie on a stick, steak on a stick, gelato, cheese curds, and who knows what else i've forgotten. also saw your namesake flowers in all their glory. quite the experience. did you get rained on? we went on sunday, and it poured down on us in our last half hour on the fairgrounds or so and as we made our way out.
