The Good People of New York by Thisbe Nissen

I've had this book on a list of things to read for quite a while and I have no idea how it ended up there, but it was on the shelf at the library so here I go. Cute, but there was something that bugged me about it. A bit too self-consiously New York-ish for me maybe? And it made it a really quick read to skip whole chunks of time, but I felt like I was missing important parts of the story this way. Characters were brought up and then not fully delved in to. It felt a bit like a sketch of a book, not quite complete.
