Another Chapter of Its a Small World

Last night, Sam and I headed oh so far down the block to Freddie's Back Room to check out Cringe. Sure enough, while I was there I ran into Beth, who I just happened to have gone to high school with. And she was reading. From her diary from 8th grade. It was a hoot - I hadn't thought about those people in so long. Or at least since two weeks ago when I ran into a guy from our class on the subway home from my parents place. Sometimes it surprises me how small NYC seems, though it never seems to surprise Sam that I ran into another person I knew.

I now have the oddest compulsion to dig up the few diaries I did keep when younger and read them next month. And next month I will also make sure to get there much earlier to get seats. Seats are good.

And for your added enjoyment, our office furniture is now semi-assembled.

I am still mortified that you now know all of the boys I loved and lost in the 8th grade. Mortified.

Don't worry, I'm pretty sure the same could be said of all of us? I mean, who didn't have the hots for Zach at some point?
