A Confederacy of Dunces by John Kennedy Toole
Started: 3/21/05
Finished: 5/16/05
I picked up this book because I needed to add something to an Amazon order to get free shipping. In looking it up right now, I found that:
People who bought this book also bought: • Amazing Adventures of Kavalier and Clay Michael Chabon • A Heartbreaking Work of Staggering Genius Dave Eggers • The Known World Edward P. Jones, Davis (Editor) • Middlesex Jeffrey Eugenides • Running with Scissors: A Memoir Augusten Burroughs
Seeing as I've read three out of the five of those, I think I'll like it. Update: It took me a hella long time to finish this book, but I think that is more because of the lack of time to read than anything else. When I was reading, it went pretty quickly, but I just had zero sympathy with any character in the book and it ended up bugging the hell out of me. I just hated the characters even more by the end of the book, which I suppose might have been the point, but that's not what I look for in a book.

I didn't like A Heartbreaking Work... maybe I should have looked it up on Amazon first.
I hated this book. I love the idea of it, I even liked the way it was written. I have heard fantastic things about it. But I cannot get past the grossness that is Ignatius J. Reilly. Appalling. I know that's the point, but I couldn't stand it.
